Supporting Active Individual and Cooperative Learning in a Laboratory Setting
Abstract
No formal lecture is given during class time. Mini-lectures are digitized as narrated PowerPoint slides that students access as needed. The focus is on active learning. Students learn course objectives, covering C programming, in this case, by completing required and optional assignments on the computer during each class session. They may reference their books, the narrated slides, fellow students, and/or the teacher to accomplish these tasks. Any assignments not completed during class can be submitted for credit electronically before the next class. CyberEd is used to aid in managing course material and discussions.
